After earning his undergraduate degree at the University of South Carolina in Columbia, Dr. Fulcher went on to receive his Doctor of Dental Medicine from MUSC, where he was awarded several academic and service awards before graduating as class valedictorian. Upon graduation from MUSC, Dr. Fulcher obtained his Certificate of Specialty in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics from Emory University in Atlanta, where he was awarded the prestigious Dr. Howard Higgins Scholarship, in addition to many other academic and service awards. Dr. Fulcher has also served as a clinical professor in the Department of Orthodontics at MUSC since 1990. In 2022, Dr. Fulcher was named Part-time Faculty of the Year for the College of Dental Medicine at MUSC. He thoroughly enjoys keeping up with the latest advances in the field of orthodontics with residents and fellow faculty.
In addition to being Board Certified by the American Board of Orthodontics, Dr. Fulcher was inducted as a Fellow in the American College of Dentists in 2015 and the International college of Dentists in 2022. He is also an active member of the following professional associations:
Dr. Fulcher also believes in living a life of service. He has been a Rotarian since 1996, has served as the president of his Rotary Club, and has been awarded The Thomas A. Bryce Memorial Award for Distinguished Leadership. He volunteers much of his time at their church in Summerville and in schools throughout Dorchester District 2.
Dr. Fulcher lives in Summerville with his four children, Sarah, Gracie, Hayden, and Noah. He is active members of Bethany United Methodist Church. When he isn’t busy creating beautiful Lowcountry smiles, Dr. Fulcher enjoys spending quality time with his family on the lake, and in the mountains. Some of their favorite activities include camping and skiing. He also enjoys playing golf in the woods surrounding many of the fine golf courses in the Lowcountry.
